When we are finding for artistic garden work that can result in peacefulness, we have to refer to Japan. This Sakura country is filled with many ideas of garden. One of them is the unique Japanese tea gardens. Long time ago, the tea gardens were used for holding tea ceremony. Back then, people walked on the pathway in the garden to go to the tea house. This activity was called the roji leading. The tea garden and long pathway was intended to reduce the tiredness and anxieties felt by people before they are going to the teahouse. Thus, they can join the tea ceremony in their best spiritual mood.

Japanese tea gardens design is divided into some parts. The first one is the gate. In most Japanese tea gardens, the gate is created from bamboo or rocks that are covered in moss. Then, the guests will enter the next part: the roji leading. It is the long pathway with various plants between the pathways. The pathway itself can be made from wooden planks or stepping stones. In the garden, a house owner can opt for creating a garden pool too. It can be followed by the installation of the wooden planks. Don’t forget the Koi fishes. It will strengthen the Japanese garden feel.

The inside garden should be filled with restful trees. It should be shadier than the pathways. You can plant a flower inside the tea house, though. The main attraction in the inner garden is the teahouse. It should be as natural as possible. It should be in a simple design too. In the Japanese tea gardens, don’t forget to provide water basin. Thus, guests can easily wash their hands. These tsukubai or low basins can be built in the ground. This water element is a must, at least one in the tea garden. Another form of the water element is the large rock with a place that can be used for collecting water on it.

Japanese tea gardens plants that can be planted in the garden are Kousa Dogwood, Magnolias, Bamboo, Azaleas, Maples, Pine trees, and Nandina domestica. All of them will result in such wonderful garden. Meanwhile, for the outer Japanese tea gardens, people can use bamboo as the fence. It can also be a rock wall covered in moss. To strengthen the feel of traditional Japanese style, the design of the garden should be kept as rustic as possible. Thus, people can see the difference between it and the modern world.

It isn’t that difficult to create Japanese tea gardens in your house. Well, you need to consult to a professional gardener first, though. This way, you will understand how large the tea garden could be. The type of the trees is also a crucial choice since different area has different suitable trees and other plantation.
